INTRODUCTION

Belarusian Ilya Silchukov is one of the most compelling lyric baritones with dramatic interpretations. He is internationally sought-after performer, versatile and multilinguistic.

The artist has worked extensively with Wladimir Fedoseev, Dany Ettinger, Ivor Bolton, Andrey Yurkevich, Myron Mikhailidis, Rani Calderon, Bruno Companella, Christopher Franklin, Eri Klas and Mikhail Tatarnikov.

His recent engagements include: Belcore/l’Elisir d’Amore at Théâtre Capitôle de Toulouse, Marcello/La bohème at Belarus State Opera Bolshoi, G.Germont/La Traviata at Brigitta Opera Festival Tallinn, Valentin/Faust at Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Michele/Il Tabarro, Der Geliebte von Gestern/Royal Palace and Dvorak’s Stabat Mater in stage version at Opéra de Montpellier, Onegin/Eugene Onegin with M. Trelinski at Teatr Wielki Warsaw, Albert/Werther and Miller/Luisa Miller at Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Silvio/Gli Pagliacci, Yeletzky/Pikowaya Dama, Robert/Iolanta, Germont/La Traviata at Belarus State Opera Bolshoi, Duke/The Miserly Knight by S.Raсhmaninov at Opera La Monnaie (Bruxelles).

Future engagements include among others:

  • Dunois/Maid of Orléans with the Scottish Opera in Glasgow;
  • Onegin/Eugen Onegin at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw.

BIOGRAPHY

Ilya Silchukov enjoys a busy career at many opera houses across the world: Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Teatro dell’opera di Roma, Teatr Wielki Warsaw, Opera De Munt Bruxelles, Frankfurt Oper, Opera National de Montpellier, Teatro Verdi Trieste, Rahvusooper Tallinn, Slovenske Narodne Divadlo Bratislava and others.

Season 2018-2019 brought both new and signature repertoire: Silchukov made his house debut in Opera de Touluse as Belcore/L’elisir d’amore. A favorite of audience in Minsk, he also made his role debut as Marcello in La bohème.

Silchukov also performs widely in concert under conductors such as Wladimir Fedoseev, Fabio Mastrangelo, Ivor Bolton, Hansjorg Albrecht and others. His concert repertory includes Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mahler’s Fahrende Geselle lied, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Faure’s Requiem, Tchaikovsky’s Moskva and Rakhmaninov’s Vesna. Performances include Elena Obraztsova Ball at Moscow Opera Bolshoi, Grand Opera Tv show Gala in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Samara, Musikerlebnis Openair Fest in Munchen and Birgitta Festival in Tallinn.

EDUCATION

Ilya Silchukov completed his studies at Belarusian State Academy of Music, becoming a house resident of Belarus State Opera Bolshoi .

Ilya Silchukov is a Laureate of many prestigious competitions among which are: 30th H.G.Belvedere Competition – H.Gabor preis and Helicon Preis (Vienna, 2011), I M.Magomaev International Singing Competition – 1st prize (Moscow,2010), M.Schneider –Trnavski International Singing Competition — 1st Prize (Trnava, 2010), Elena Obraztsova Grand Opera TVShow – Super Finalist (Moscow,2014) and CLIP2017 — 3rd Prize (Portofino, 2017).
